Joel’s journey into psychology and counselling began at an early age where he experienced first-hand the impact poor mental health can have on family life. Through his own personal experiences Joel witnessed the positive effect of talking therapies and soon realised this was his vocation.

Joel’s journey into psychology and counselling began at an early age where he experienced first-hand the impact poor mental health can have on family life. Through his own personal experiences Joel witnessed the positive effect of talking therapies and soon realised this was his vocation.

Joel is passionate about supporting clients who struggle with mental health and emotional issues. He has worked within the health and wellbeing sector for the past six years in a variety of roles, including research assistant, mentor, and mental health charity manager. Joel is also a qualified personal trainer and has combined physical exercise with counselling which has led to body and mind transformations.

Joel’s experience with clients includes working with addiction, developmental trauma, race and sexuality issues. Working as an honorary counsellor Joel has learnt how each client relationship requires an individual and personal approach. He will be available to offer low-cost counselling online and in person.
